12″ Unnofficial Blue Vinyl Bootleg (2009)

THIS IS A RARE COUNTERFEIT ON BLUE VINYL OF THE CLASSIC NIRVANA ALBUM. IT’S NOT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE AND SHOULDN’T BE  SEEN AS ANYTHING MORE THAN AN INTERESTING ANOMALY.  NIRVANA COLLECTORS AND COMMITTED FANS WILL BE INTERESTED IN THIS ONE, BUT IT’S NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE AUTHENTIC DEAL.
This “unofficial release” was released by a dodgy European label in 2009 even though it claims to have been released in 1991.  It’s obvious to anyone knowledgeable to anyone in the Nirvana collectors market that it’s not authentic, but there have been Nirvana fans who have bought copies over the years thinking it was the real deal.  The front and rear covers are not as high quality as the original, and although it’s presented as a Geffen release, closer inspection shows it’s not.  The label name “Simply Vinyl” is meant to imply it’s a release by Simply Vinyl LTD which is a legitimate label who have released high-quality analog pressings of earlier recordings. This pressing is said to be poor so knowing that we haven’t played it to retain its near mint grading. We’re hesitant to list this LP, but we understand there’s a small demand for it.
